COSPLAY CONTEST ENTRIES

EXHIBITION CATEGORY (NON-CRAFTSMANSHIP)

This category is open to bought cosplays, closet cosplays, and made cosplays. Judging is based on performance rather than craftsmanship.

BEGINNER LEVEL CATEGORY (CRAFTSMANSHIP)

The beginner category is open to new crafters who have just started to build their crafting experience and/or have little to no contest experience. Cosplays may be of any crafting type, and must be at least 30% hand made.

NEEDLEWORK CATEGORY (CRAFTSMANSHIP)

The needlework category is for cosplays based in sewing techniques, including machine or hand stitching, embroidery, beadwork etc. Note that you may have other craftsmanship elements in your cosplay like armor and effects, but the majority of your costume has relied on needlework. Costume is approximately 80% hand made.

ARMOR CATEGORY (CRAFTSMANSHIP)

The armor category is for cosplays based in armor techniques, including foamsmithing, worbla, leatherwork, casting, etc. Note that you may have other craftsmanship elements in your cosplay like sewing and effects, but the majority of your costume has relied on armor sculpting. Costume is approximately 80% hand made.

CMV CATEGORY (PERFORMANCE/SKIT)

The CMV category is open to all cosplay of all kinds, bought or made. This category will serve as your "skits" category, and competitors will submit either a scripted skit video or organized cosplay music video. Note that this is a more acting based video than a video turnaround showing all sides of your cosplay such as the one you may have submitted for craftsmanship. Videos must be at least a minute in length and no longer than 5 minutes, editing is allowed. This may be a solo, duo, or group skit. Cosplayers may compete in the CMV category as well as a craftsmanship/non craftsmanship category, and may use either the same cosplay or a different cosplay.
